The Ultimate Guide To Article Marketing

Article marketing is an online marketing strategy designed to drive targeted traffic back to your website.  By ‘targeted traffic’ I refer to people who are interested in you, your services or products, and what you have to say.

By writing articles around your area of expertise and then publishing them online, you are letting your customers/clients know about you and providing them with valuable information on their area of interest.  They find your article, and then click through to your website to find out more about you and your services or products – and hopefully sign up to your ezine!  Therefore not only are you showing yourself as being knowledgable in your niche and providing valuable and useful information, but you are also building your list.

And what makes article marketing so appealing and popular is that as well as showing off your expertise and building your list, it is also a low-cost strategy and very easy to implement.

Article marketing is also good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).  When you submit an article to one of the article directories you are creating a backlink to your website.  Your article will get picked up by webmasters and ezine publishers looking for content for their own websites, blogs, and/or newsletter, and generate even more backlinks to your website all of which helps you climb in the search engine rankings.

How do I get started?

Assuming you already have your articles written, you just create accounts at the various article submission sites and begin submitting your articles!

When deciding which article directories to submit your articles to, first research them to check that they have the appropriate category for your articles.  You will not do yourself any favours by submitting your article into any category.  If your article is all about ‘Top 10 Tips for Maintaining Your Car’ you wouldn’t get targeted traffic to your website by submitting it into a ‘Cake Baking’ category, and neither would you build any credibility as an expert in your niche as your target market wouldn’t be able to find you!
